800 Shoes; a commemoration of the tragedy in the Mediterranean

BA (Textiles) Graduate Show of Judith Waters, a Cameroonian migrant graduating from Chelsea College of Art. The work, 800 shoes is on the tragedy in the Mediterranean in April, when 800 refugees drowned when their boat sank. The project is in two parts: a large wooden container, on the parade ground outside the college, and a piece in Judith's studio window overlooking the container. Judith twisted 800 pieces of yarn for the studio installation.
